DO PES COURSES QUALIFY FOR CPE IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA?
Georgia does not pre-approve continuing education programs. The board requires that CPE meet the statement of standards as set forth by NASBA and AICPA (PES courses do meet these standards). PES is a registered sponsor with NASBA and have issued credits in the state of Georgia without any problems.
LICENSE RENEWAL INFORMATION:
- The board requires 80 hours of CPE every 2 years.
- A minimum of 20 hours per year.
- A minimum of 16 hours total shall be in the area of accounting and auditing.
LICENSE EXPIRATION INFORMATION:
- Registrants shall register biennially on 12/31 of odd numbered years. The next expiration date is 12/31/2009.
CPE COMPLETION DUE BY:
- CPE must be completed on or before 12/31 of odd numbered years.
SELF STUDY CREDIT HOURS:
Credits granted for PES courses are based on the AICPA and NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) statement of standards which grant 1 CPE credit for every 50-minutes of study time.
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SELF STUDY CREDITS: 100%
ACCEPTABLE AREAS OF STUDY:
Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Management Service, Computer Science, Oral and written communications, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Law, Functional Fields of Business, Specialized Areas of Industry, Administrative of an accounting practice.
Areas other than those listed above may be acceptable if the registrant can demonstrate that they contribute to the registrant's professional competence. The responsibility for substantiating that a particular program is acceptable and meets the requirements rests solely upon the registrant.
