DO PES COURSES QUALIFY FOR CPE IN THE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE?
New Hampshire does not pre-approve continuing education programs or sponsors and they do not have sponsorship agreements. They will accept courses from NASBA and NASBA-QAS sponsors. PES is a registered sponsor with NASBA and NASBA-QAS and have issued credits in the state of New Hampshire without any problems.
LICENSE RENEWAL INFORMATION:
- The board requires 120 hours of CPE every 3 year reporting cycle.
- Minimum of 20 per year.
- Registrant must also complete 4 hours of ethics every 3 years. Course #4600: Ethics and Professional Conduct for New Hampshire CPAs satisfies this requirement. In addition, PES courses #4200 (This is a 2 hr course. You will need to take an additional 2 hrs of ethics), #4205 and #4325 will meet all or part of this requirement.
LICENSE EXPIRATION INFORMATION:
- The registrant must register triennially based upon first letter of their last name:
- A-F 7/01/2005 - 6/30/2008
- G-M to 7/1/2006 - 6/30/2009
- N-Z 7/01/2007 - 6/30/2010

SELF STUDY CREDIT HOURS:
Credits granted for PES courses are based on the AICPA and NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) statement of standards which grant 1 CPE credit for every 50-minutes of study time.
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SELF STUDY CREDITS: 100%
ACCEPTABLE AREAS OF STUDY:
Regulations state: a program qualifies if "it is a formal program of learning which contributes to the growth and the professional knowledge and professional competence of an individual licensed.." and they list acceptable subjects and then states "subjects other than those listed shall be acceptable if the applicant can demonstrate that they contribute to his/her professional competence."
Areas include: Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Management Service, Computer Science, Communication Arts, Mathematics, Statistics, Probability and Quantitative Applications in Business, Economics, Business Law, Functional Fields of Business, Specialized Areas of Industry, Administrative, Personnel, Management and Human Relations. Areas other than those listed may be acceptable if the registrant can demonstrate that they contribute to the registrant's professional competence. The responsibility for substantiating that a particular program is acceptable and meets the requirements rests solely upon the registrant.
