DO PES COURSES QUALIFY FOR CPE IN THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA?
The Oklahoma Board of Accountancy has no formal sponsor registration requirements. The board will accept courses from sponsors registered with NASBA. PES is a registered member of NASBA and has issued credits in Oklahoma without any problems.
PERMIT RENEWAL INFORMATION:
- CPAs must report 120 hours over a 3 year period - this is a rolling calendar, meaning that each time they
- Must take a minimum of 20 hours per calendar year
- CPE must be completed on a calendar year basis
- A minimum of 2 hours annually must be in the area of Professional Ethics
PLEASE NOTE: Because our specific #4750: Ethics and Professional Conduct for Oklahoma CPAs course does not change that much on an annual basis, it is advised that the licensee not take the same ethics course two years in a row. Board regulations state that the requirement may be met by courses on ethical codes in jurisdictions other than Oklahoma or general ethics courses. Therefore the following courses also qualify for the Oklahoma Ethics requirement: #4200, #4205, or #4325. Other state specific courses also apply for those CPAs that are dual licensed.

Credits granted for PES courses are based on the AICPA and NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) statement of standards which grant 1 CPE credit for every 50-minutes of study time.
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SELF STUDY CREDITS: 100%
ACCEPTABLE AREAS OF STUDY:
Accounting, assurance/advisory, consulting services, specialized knowledge and applications, management, taxation and ethics. Other subjects including personal development may be acceptable if they maintain and or improve the registrant's professional competence.
