DO PES COURSES QUALIFY FOR CPE IN THE STATE OF UTAH?
The board does not have formal sponsor registration requirements.
PES is a registered member of NASBA, our courses meet Utah state board regulations, and PES has issued credits in Utah without any problems.
LICENSE RENEWAL INFORMATION:
- The board requires 80 hours of CPE every 2 years
- Minimum of 20 hours per year
LICENSE EXPIRATION INFORMATION:
- Registrant must register biennially on 9/30 of every even numbered year.
CPE COMPLETION DUE BY:
- CPE must be completed by 12/31/odd years preceding license renewal date and reported by 1/31 of the license renewal date.
SELF STUDY CREDIT HOURS:
Credits granted for PES courses are based on the AICPA and NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) statement of standards which grant 1 CPE credit for every 50-minutes of study time.
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SELF STUDY CREDITS: 100%
ACCEPTABLE AREAS OF STUDY:
Regulations state: acceptable continuing education encompasses programs contributing to the development and maintenance of both technical and non-technical professional skills.
Acceptable CPE subjects include: accounting, assurance/auditing, consulting services, specialized knowledge and applications, management, taxation, and ethics.
Other subjects, including personal development, may also be acceptable if they maintain and/or improve the CPA's professional competence. Such subjects may include, but are not limited to: accounting and auditing, taxation, management advisory services, information technology, communication arts, mathematics, statistics, probability and quantitative analysis, economics, business law and litigation support, functional fields of business such as finance, production, marketing, personnel relations, development and management, business management and organizations, social environment of business, and specialized areas of industry such as film industry, real estate, or farming.
