DO PES COURSES QUALIFY FOR CPE IN THE STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA?
All CPE must adhere to the AICPA/NASBA statement of standards. Sponsor must register with NASBA. PES is a member of NASBA and has issued credits in West Virginia without any problems
LICENSE RENEWAL INFORMATION:
- 120 hours of CPE every 3 years. (rolling 3 year calendar period, meaning that at every annual renewal the CPA must be able to show completion of 120 hours over the past three years)
- Minimum 20 hours in each such calendar year, however, the board recommends 40 hours annually.
LICENSE EXPIRATION INFORMATION:
CPE COMPLETION DUE BY:
- CPE must be completed by 12/31 and reported by 1/31 of each calendar year.
SELF STUDY CREDIT HOURS:
Credits granted for PES courses are based on the AICPA and NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) statement of standards which grant 1 CPE credit for every 50-minutes of study time.
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SELF STUDY CREDITS: 100%
ACCEPTABLE AREAS OF STUDY:
Regulation states: shall contribute directly to the professional competence of the individual.
