DO PES COURSES QUALIFY FOR CPE IN THE STATE OF WEST WYOMING? YES

The board does not have formal sponsor registration requirements, but they do accept NASBA and NASBA-QAS approved courses. PES is a registered sponsor with NASBA and NASBA-QAS and have issued credits in Wyoming without any problems.

LICENSE RENEWAL INFORMATION:

  • 120 hours/3 years (rolling 3 year calendar period, meaning that at every annual renewal the CPA must be able to show completion of 120 hours over the past three years ending December 31st)
  • Minimum of 80 hours in technical - Code A subjects
  • Maximum of 40 credits will be allowed in any three year period for non-technical courses
  • 4 CPE credits of Ethics every three years - the course must be approved by the board of accountancy.

LICENSE EXPIRATION INFORMATION:

  • Expires annually on 12/31.

CPE COMPLETION DUE BY:

  • Completed by 12/31 annually.

SELF STUDY CREDIT HOURS:

Credits granted for PES courses are based on the AICPA and NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) statement of standards which grant 1 CPE credit for every 50-minutes of study time.

MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SELF STUDY CREDITS: 100%

ACCEPTABLE AREAS OF STUDY:

CODE A - Technical Areas of study include: accounting and auditing, business law, administrative practice, regulatory ethics, business management and organization, finance (financial planning), management advisory services, marketing, economics, specialized knowledge and applications, statistics, taxes, computer science or software application.

Non-Technical Areas of study include: behavioral ethics, communication, personal development, personnel and human resource. Other areas of study are acceptable if they contribute to the professional competence of the CPA.
